With the absorption of Troupe429’s dance floor by the brand new record store, the bar was left without a proper stage. After 3 months of careful & cautious cleaning procedures & adherence to all COVID-19 safety guidelines, we felt it important to bring back our performers.

After taping out a few stage designs on the floor with painters tape, I settled on a 7’ wide, rounded stage front. The stage is primarily 2x12’s & 2x4’s sandwiched between 4’x8’ plywood. The rounded front is hardboard that was primed and painted in a turn-of-the-21st century circus triangular pattern using gold leaf paint and a sponge painted rainbow gradient. The gold trim is PVC material coated in a matte metallic gold paint with a remote controlled LED light strip within. The flooring is a wood plank vinyl sheet cut to size. The Troupe429 flag was custom ordered from Humphrys Flag Company in Philadelphia - one of the oldest flag making companies in the nation - located across from the Betsy Ross House.
